Canaan Valley Ski Patrol – Candidate Program

Who and What Are Candidates?

The candidate member category is the entry level of membership in the National Ski Patrol. One can apply to the Canaan Valley Ski Patrol (join) for an entry level membership with the patrol.

All applicants accepted as candidates are required to register and pay dues as candidates before participation in any on-the-hill training. Membership benefits begin at this level. Candidates must complete certain training before they can advance to NSP patroller.

All National Ski Patrol candidates must successfully complete the required course program. This would consist of completing the Outdoor Emergency Care Course (a 10 to 15 week medical), On-The-Hill Ski Training and membership fees. Once meeting these requirements, your position as a candidate will be elevated to patroller status (Basic or Auxiliary) the following year.

Canaan Valley Ski Patrol is always looking for new members, please see the “Join CVSP” page for more information on patrolling and general and contact information.
